Omdurman National Bank is amongst ten branches expansions during the last years. The bank operates through its headquarters and fifteen branches, eight of which are located in Khartoum states. The bank is one of the national pioneering institutions and a very important pillar of the national academy in the fields of banking, investment, and foreign trade.
The briskly Atbara Branch; one of the hottest areas on the planet in northern eastern Sudan, is known for its stormy weather. The proposal was contemporary of its kind, with a concept of straight shapes combined with sloped ones creating contrast amongst its neighboring buildings. A recessed building surrounded by terraces covered by shading de- vices to protect building from emerging dust, also through the use of materials resistance by color and texture, with the use f granite tiles and matt paint and glass. The materials used are textured light color paint and glass panels and two free walls to define the entrance, the free walls contained the bank logo and name seen from a distance. A manual model was introduced with automated branch systems.
Omdurman Branch with a volume formed of arched ground floor facade. This office building providing a well-utilized space for workers. The ground floor one side is arched openings facade forms the walkway with part of the long vertical glazed opening. The other side is large squared glazed openings. The focal point is a cube volume with a large green horizontal running glazed opening; running along both of facade sides, situated at the corner of two intersecting streets. The further side of the facade is formed of block steel with main Bank initials. This cube volume contains a top steel structure. At both sides there is a long strip with bank name situated just on top of the ground floor facade.
Kassala Branch formed of a three floored Bank situated in the prestigious Kassala home to one of Sudan’s Icons, Jabal Toteel. A white volume forms a beautiful corner with its various dimensional openings and shadings as well as creating a very noticeable feature, this white volume at the corner is mainly glass, on top of a clear Bank label subtly blending in with the greenery surrounding, on top of a canopy is provided. The wall side facing east to the white cube contains slender thin vertical openings that add to the beauty of this building, also a mixture of vertical and squared openings look into the back facade side street .This bank has a very earthy feel and appearance achieved.
